Frédéric Saulou
In 2013, French designer Frédéric Saulou founded his atelier, an independent, multidisciplinary design and consulting studio that views design as a space for research and exchange, allowing him to develop a sensitive approach to forms and materials.
Experimentation and research are paramount in his work, enabling him to imagine new materials and new uses. This approach guides him daily, ensuring that each project is conceived as a sculpture in its own right, balancing simplicity and technical sophistication. His approach leads him toward a comprehensive yet unique vision of his creations, fostering distinctive interactions between the user and the material, between artisanal craftsmanship and industrial techniques, and between poetic and expressive design.
Since 2015, Frédéric has been working on the "Domestiquer" project, which aims to showcase the territory, skills, and (a)typical materials of the French historical architectural landscape—symbols of history and heritage—on a different scale: that of contemporary creation.
Today, Frédéric works on a variety of projects, from objects to spaces, in series or limited editions, and collaborates with prestigious institutions, galleries, and brands worldwide.
Furthermore, Frédéric is a recipient of the FRENCH DESIGN 100 award, which recognizes the 100 most internationally renowned designers of 2024 – Élysée Palace, Paris.
